Refund Policy

Summary

EU consumer law gives you 14 days to change your mind on most online purchases. We honour that for AskSocrat. Beyond those 14 days, we still try to do the right thing — see below for the details per plan.

1. The 14-day right of withdrawal

For 14 days from the day you start a paid plan you may cancel and ask for a full refund, no reason required. Write to [email protected] with your account e-mail and we will refund the entire payment to the original card within 7 days.

Important caveat. EU law lets us reduce or refuse the refund if the digital service has been materially used during the withdrawal window. In practice we apply this rule generously: ordinary use does not trigger it. We only invoke it if usage looks like the user wanted a free month — for example, hundreds of messages in a few days followed by a refund request.

2. After the 14-day window

Kykeon (weekly)

No refund after the 14-day window. The period is too short for a refund to be meaningful — just cancel and the next period will not be charged.

Maza (monthly)

No automatic refund after the 14-day window. If you cancel mid-month, access continues to month-end and the next payment is not taken. We may grant a goodwill pro-rata refund if you have used the Service materially less than the period you paid for; write to [email protected] with your reason.

Symposion (yearly)

Within 30 days of the renewal payment we offer a pro-rata refund of the unused months minus a €5 administrative fee. After 30 days, the same goodwill rule as Maza applies. Cancellation always stops future renewals.

3. If we cancel

If we suspend your account because you broke the Acceptable Use rules, we refund the unused portion of any paid period unless the violation involved fraud against us. If we discontinue the Service, every active paid plan is refunded pro-rata.

4. How to ask

We aim to reply within 3 business days and to issue any refund within 7 days of agreement.

5. Currency, fees, payment method

Refunds go to the original card. We do not pay refunds in a different currency, to a different person, or by another method. Stripe sometimes returns the refund as a positive ledger entry instead of a card credit (this happens for closed cards); in that case Stripe will write to you directly.

6. Disputes / chargebacks

Please write to us before opening a dispute with your bank — we settle issues faster than the chargeback process can. If a chargeback is opened we will provide Stripe with the full record of your subscription, sign-in history, and message volume; we make no other use of that record.
